Rotary RW 1895 Pilot Automatic - GS05470/73

The RW 1895 Pilot references all the attributes that one would find on a vintage tool pilot watch including special features as well as exceptional durability and accuracy. A modern, distinctive pilot watch, featuring a robust 42mm case dimension, 52mm lug-to-lug, and an oversized protruding screw-down crown. Originally featured to help pilots in freezing cockpits operate them wearing gloves.

The movement includes hacking seconds; a feature commonly used on field watches to synchronise time by stopping the movement of the second hand when adjusting the time. Once the time is set, the crown is pushed back in and the second hand resumes its movement.

The utilitarian dial design with large hands and bold numerals are lumed for legibility. Another clever design feature are the rivets on the sturdy aviation leather strap, originally these were placed there to ensure that the watch didn't slide whilst the pilot was in flight.
